TEN FINGERS & TOES

Armour

Creative Director

December 2022

The internet is weird, hyper-fixated, and unabashed. Ten Fingers & Toes, part of Issue 28 "Iconoclast, explored online fetish culture and the digital era of anonymity, which has reshaped how sexuality is expressed and explored.

In this editorial, we focused on foot fetishism as a lens through which to examine the complexities of digital intimacy. Through the hypothetical private life of a foot photo seller, we glimpse into the intersection of sexual desire, objectification, and the commodification of innocence. This exploration sheds light on how the digital age has transformed our understanding of intimacy and identity and creates a tension between objectification and empowerment.

Online platforms have become havens for individuals to delve into absurd fetishes that are otherwise stigmatized in real-life contexts. Platforms like Reddit, Craigslist, eBay, OnlyFans, and other social media sites provide avenues for transactional exchanges of intimate content. However, this phenomenon isn't without controversy, especially regarding online sex work. While buyers can maintain anonymity, sellers often face societal criticism for openly engaging in such activities. Yet, for many sellers, this engagement can be empowering.
